Senior Puppet Developer – Security Clearance

Location: Den Haag, Netherlands

Duration: 3 Months + Extension

Description:

Sperry Partners Group is urgently looking for an experienced for a Senior Puppet Developer in Den Haag, Netherlands.

Main Purpose:

• Design, plan and execute the upgrade of Puppet Enterprise
• Revise, standardize and simplify the existing Puppet configuration and ERPL code (bash script)
• Support and incorporate new requirements (subject to future discussion)

Tasks:

• Assess existing Linux/Puppet configuration and related support infrastructure
• Plan Puppet reconfiguration in order to simplify, stabilize and align with Puppet and market best practices
• Design and maintain the new Linux support infrastructure
• Apply fixes, plan and execute the upgrade of the Puppet
• Incorporate new infrastructure and development requirements (subject to future discussion)
• Document all activities, topology, configuration and procedures.

Profile:

• Minimum 5 years’ experience of ICT work within at least one organisation with more than 200 employees/end points
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in Linux/Unix Administration, preferably Red Hat 5+
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in Puppet based configuration management design/architecture, development/configuration and deployment/administration, preferably on Red Hat 5+
• Participation in a minimum of 3 projects involving Puppet based solutions on Linux/Unix (or equivalent experience – large projects)
• Participation in a minimum of 2 projects involving server automation (deployment) and standardization through scripting
• General OS and network knowledge
• Analytical, organizational and documentation skills
• Knowledge of bash and also (preferably) ruby scripting

Nice to have:

• Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server 2003+
• Knowledge of Puppet configuration management on  Windows Server 2003+
• Certification: RHCSA/RHCE
